It is one of the pieces of art of Sultan Abdulmecit's architect, Garabet Balyan. Dolmabahce Palace also known as the "Late Palace", where Ataturk (the founder of the Turkish Republic) spent his last days and died in 1938 on 10th November. Much more original interior decoration of the palace is still to be seen compared to Topkapi Palace. |

Mihrimah Sultan Mosque - Architect Sinan designed this mosque after 1557, for Mihrimah Sultan, Sultan Suleyman's daughter. This mosque is unprecedented with its supporting system and dome (19 m.). Four arches that spring from four piers hold up the dome, which has an astonishing height (35 m.). |

And after a nice and short walk along the waterside of the Bosphorus, you will reach the Maiden's Tower (light-tower at the entrance of the Bosphorus situated-19th cent. A.D.), from where one of the best views of Istanbul (looking from Asia towards Europe=Old & New City !) could be caught! |

Lunch brake where you can taste the Turkish Kitchen! (lunch is not included in the tour rate) In the afternoon you will cross the Bosphorus with a boat and drive to Taksim Square, from where the very famous Boulevard Istiklal Caddesi now since a few years closed for motorized vehicles! starts, which is also well-known as Beyoglu. |

Taksim Square - Before Ankara became the new Capitol of the Turkish Republic, on this boulevard were all the foreign Embassies nowadays these architectural masterpiece buildings are still in use as general consulates, movie, theatres, boutiques, cafes, bars, patisseries, antiquity shops, bookshops etc. |

After it turned into a street for pedestrians, they have also rebuild the "Old Tramway", which is now cruising between the two ends of this boulevard, Taksim-square and Tunel-square! |

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Following a short drive with your private vehicle across the Galata Bridge, drop off at the heart of the old city, with your English-speaking guide, walk the historic streets to the Dolmabahce Palace, Mihrimah Sultan Mosque and the famous Taksim Square. |

be cautious to watch their step at all times in order to
